Barb Carter, Agency Relations Coordinator at the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, has resigned her post after two years. Her last day at work was July 12.

Carter is moving to Prairie Village, Kan., with her husband, Kevin, who is taking a job with Associated Wholesale Grocers in Kansas City, Kan.

“I’ll miss so much working with the agencies, my friends and family at the Food Bank,” Carter said. “This has been the most rewarding job I’ve ever had.

“It’s been a privilege being a part of the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank.”

Carter has served as the resource person for the more than 160 partner agencies of the Food Bank.

She also works with new partner startups and is the first line of support for issues involving food orders. In addition, she also visits the agencies on a regular basis to meet those in charge to make sure they are in compliance with Feeding America standards.

She and Gerald Demory, director of strategic partnerships, organize the annual meeting in February for the partner agencies.

Carter said she called Kent Eikenberry after he was named president and CEO of the Food Bank to congratulate him and told him that she would like to work at the Food Bank some day. About a month later, he called her about the job and the rest is history.

The Carters will be moving closer to their daughter, Emily, and three grandchildren, who live in Overland Park.

They have three other grown children, Sara of Fayetteville, who has three grandchildren; Will, who lives in Nashville, Tenn., and Mary, who lives in New Zealand and works as an au pair.
